When we say we buy houses “as is,” we mean it….
Sellers come to us in all circumstances, including this owner who lived in the Northeastern U.S. and had planned to do a full rehab on this property in north St. Petersburg, Florida, but just wasn’t able to make it happen. After talking to this seller for 3 – yes THREE – years, he finally decided it was time to let it go.
Because this seller was over 1,300 miles away from St. Pete (and the property was boarded up), we were never able to look at the house before purchase. We didn’t let that stop us though! With the seller being out of state, we were still able to close when he wanted and the sale was finished right at 10 days.
Often we rehab and rent the homes we sell, but while we were in the midst of FOURTEEN trips to the Pinellas County dump, we found and sold this property to a happy buyer.
- Out of state seller – We are in St. Petersburg, Florida and the seller was in New England
- Accessibility – We were not able to view the property until after purchase
- Vacancy – Property had been vacant for 19 years
- Hoarding/debris – House was FULL of junk and debris that required 14 trips to the dump
